  • Design your dream bike art competition from the School Travel and Road Safety Education, Training and Publicity

    Tue 14 Apr 2020

    Dear Parent and Carers

During these unusual times of change and uncertainty the STARS team at Hillingdon Council would really like to invite as many children as possible to take part in an exciting borough wide ‘Design your Dream Bike’ art competition!

It is so important for your child to continue to feel part of their school and wider community, and we are committed to encouraging fun activities that offer a creative outlet for your children as well as asking them to think about the benefits of active travel on their health and the planet.

    The Competition:

We are asking children to draw what their dream bicycle would look like. It doesn’t have to be a conventional two-wheel bicycle, the bike can be as wacky and inventive as they want. The more creative the better! Think wings and rockets and you are on the right track! Children are encouraged to use their imagination and whatever medium they have to hand! Paints, pencils, crayons, pens, all are totally acceptable!

    The Prizes:

Once the top 3 winning designs from each key stage have been selected, they will be sent to a graphic designer to be turned into a piece of art - digitising the design and adding colour and backgrounds to the print, which will then be mounted and framed for your child to keep.

They will also win an amazon gift card to spend on whatever they wish!

    Prize breakdown (for each KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4):
1st Place will receive a £50 Amazon Voucher and an A3 framed print of their bike
2nd Place will receive a £30 Amazon Voucher and an A4 framed print of their bike
3rd Place will receive a £15 Amazon Voucher and an A5 framed print of their bike
In addition, we are hoping to exhibit the work at a local library, subject to changes to the current lockdown conditions.

Have your child draw their dream bike and then send it back to the STARS Team by the competition deadline, Thursday 30th April 2020!

This can be done in one of two ways:
Post the design on Twitter or Instagram with #DREAMBIKESTARS so that everyone in the community is able to look at the art that your children have created. (If you prefer you can post the picture without your child in the shot) Just remember to include the hashtag above.
If you don’t have access to social media, please e-mail a photo of the design to stars@hillingdon.co.uk.
The STARS team will then contact the winners through Instagram, Twitter or by email.

  • Applause for our Heroes!

    Fri 03 Apr 2020

This song and PowerPoint was created, written and performed by pupils at Lake Farm Park Academy to celebrate the hard work and dedication of all the NHS staff and all the key workers during these unprecedented and difficult times.

We hope the words and pictures resonate with you and that you enjoy listening to it as much as the pupils did create it.

A big shout out to our brilliant music teacher Mr Jordan and to Miss Chana in supporting the pupils to create this.

  • Applause for NHS tonight

    Thu 02 Apr 2020

    Dear Parents / Carers

    Hope you are all well.

Every Thursday, at 8.00 pm, our nation is invited to come together and join in huge applause to show our appreciation for every NHS worker playing a vital role in fighting the Coronavirus.

Please use this time to spare a thought for all those brave NHS workers working long hours, putting themselves at risk and helping to save lives. I can only begin to imagine some of the situations our NHS workers will have seen and dealt with during this epidemic and some of the heart-break that they will have sadly witnessed. Stepping outside to join in an important round of applause is nothing in comparison.

Please feel free to send us videos of you taking part in this good cause to lfpaoffice@theparkfederation.org

Thank you in advance for joining in the mass applause for our NHS heroes.

Stay safe and please look after yourself and your families.

    Ms. Buttar

    Principal
