As we remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LFPA is preparing to set up Google classroom teaching online after the Easter holidays. In order to set this up, parents need a Gmail account. If you do not have one, we would recommend you create one.

Do you, as a parent or carer at home with your children during the current school shut down, feel that you need someone to talk to about how you can cope during this challenging time for families?

 

Hillingdon Educational Psychology Service is providing a helpline for any parent or carer of children, who feel they would benefit from a consultation with a psychologist to support them with any concerns arising at this time, for them or their families.

 

Area of concern you may wish to discuss may include:

• Anxiety around the current situation and its impact on your children and family;
• Supporting you to support your children’s emotional needs;
• Concerns about friendships, learning, daily structure and activities;
• The impact of change, loss or bereavement;
• How to best look after yourself so you can look after your children.

The concerns can be related to school or family life.

 

If you would like to access this service, please email educationalpsychologyservice@hillingdon.gov.uk with the following information:

• Your name;
• The telephone number you would like to be contacted on;
• The name of your child’s school;
• Times and dates you are not available for a consultation;
• A brief description of what you would like to focus on in the consultation.

 

We will aim to get back to you within two working days to confirm a date and time for your consultation.

 

The consultation service will, as far as possible, be confidential.

Dear Parents/Carers,                                                        

 

Following on from my last update, I am now writing to let you know that we have now been instructed to close the school to almost all children after this Friday until further notice.

As advised by the government, we will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers (e.g. NHS staff, police, others in frontline services) and children with certain needs.  We are waiting for the government to publish more information on what this means, but it would help us in the meantime if you could let us know if you think your child may fall into one of these categories. We have been working hard behind the scenes with our staff to organise home learning for our children.  These are available on the website https://www.lakefarmpark.academy/home-schooling/

 

All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into the school from Monday 23^rd March onwards.

Please note that this is a national closure – as you may have heard in the news – so while it is a challenging situation, we are not alone. We will re-open fully as soon as we can and will let you know when this is by the school website, App or text message to parents to let you know when the school will reopen.

 

Each child has been issued a home learning pack with a range of activities as well as a suggested weekly timetable and an exercise book for recording their online learning which is on our website.

 

Each child has been reissued their Bug Club, Mymaths and Times Table Rockstars logins and passwords. Please encourage your child/ren to continue to access these websites according to the suggested time tables.

 

An email address has been set up for each year group. This is so parents can make contact with the class teachers in each year group should they have any questions about the learning or their child is struggling with a specific concept. Our teachers will respond daily between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm with advice and guidance within 48 hours.

We are in unchartered waters, but our aim is to continue to provide, where possible, education for our children.

 

Please ensure you have downloaded our APP on your phone as we will use this to post whole school updates.
